Apartment buildings built by Pillar Contractor in Ventspils officially opened
Today, 20 May, two new multi-apartment rental buildings were officially opened in Ventspils at Saules Street 122. They were developed on the commission of Ventspils Municipality and using funding from the low-rent housing construction programme. The implementation of the project marks an important stage of development in Ventspils’ residential housing stock, with the city gaining 60 new, modern and energy-efficient rental apartments.
The project is particularly significant because these are the first completely newly built apartment buildings in Ventspils since the restoration of Latvia’s independence. The apartments have been designed with open-plan layouts and fully finished interiors. A lift has been installed in each stairwell, while the landscaped territory includes a children’s playground, paved parking spaces, bicycle parking and underground containers for waste sorting. The area is fenced, ensuring privacy and safety for residents. From the beginning of June, the new residents will be able to move into their homes, and apartment occupancy has currently reached 92%.
Both five-storey buildings were designed and built by Pillar Contractor. “This was the largest project implemented by Pillar Contractor in Kurzeme, so it is especially gratifying that it is at the same time so important for the city of Ventspils and its residents. During the implementation of the project, we gained valuable experience working with the municipality and its institutions, as well as with regional companies. The project “Construction of rental housing at Saules Street 122, Ventspils” was implemented with the support of the Development Finance Institution “ALTUM”, using a loan from the European Union Recovery Fund programme.
The project client is the municipal LLC “Ventspils nekustamie īpašumi”. The construction design was developed and the construction work was carried out by LLC “Pillar Contractor”, while construction supervision was provided by LLC “Būves birojs”.
