Pillar Contractor is building new streets in the New Hanza territory

To further improve the infrastructure in the New Hanza territory, work is underway on the construction of new streets, which will extend for a total of 375 metres. As part of the project, Oskara Stroka Street and Aleksandra Laimes Street will be built, connecting with Gustava Kluča Street.

The necessary underground utilities are currently being built: sanitary and stormwater sewerage, water supply, drainage system, and heating supply. The construction of underground utilities is being carried out at depths of up to 5.5 metres, so sheet pile walls are being used to reinforce the trenches, with a total planned length of 830 metres.

So far, 812 metres of sanitary and stormwater sewerage, 387 metres of water supply, 379 metres of heating supply, and 393 metres of drainage system have been built in the new streets. The total planned length is 1,112 metres for sanitary and stormwater sewerage, 617 metres for water supply, 659 metres for heating supply, and 693 metres for the drainage system.

Construction work on the new street sections began in February of this year; the underground utility networks are planned to be completed by May 2025, while the pavement construction work is planned to be completed in December 2025.

 Overall, infrastructure construction work at New Hanza began in 2015, with more than 15 million euros invested in it to date. Over these years, as part of improvements to the New Hanza infrastructure, Mihaila Tāla Street, Martas Staņas Street, Gustava Kluča Street, Roberta Hirša Street, and Vilhelma Ostvalda Street have been built, along with utility network connections from the city networks and an underground stormwater collector.
