Pillar Contractor will improve the stormwater drainage system in Imanta

In March 2024, the Riga City Council’s Finance and Administration Committee decided to entrust Pillar Contractor with improving the stormwater drainage system in Imanta. The aim of the project is to improve the land drainage system by building a culvert under Zolitūdes Street, 700 millimetres in diameter across its entire width, deepening the ditch along a 40-metre section of Zolitūdes Street near the intersection with Akāciju Street, as well as building a closed stormwater drainage system and drainage over a length of 304 metres. The resurfacing of Akāciju Street is also planned.

The improvements are needed to prevent adjacent areas from flooding in spring during heavy rain and snowmelt. The planned project cost is 379,698 euros.
