As part of an environmental accessibility project, “Pillar Contractor” has begun reconstruction work on a state institution

Pillar Contractor, SIA, a real estate design and construction company owned by AmberStone Group, AS, has begun reconstruction work commissioned by SJSC “State Real Estate” at the building located at 43 Pasta Street in Jelgava, which houses several departments of state institutions. The reconstruction work is taking place as part of an environmental accessibility project implemented with the aim of ensuring access to welfare-sector services for all groups of society, including persons with disabilities and functional impairments.

The aim of the project is to significantly expand the range of public services and public buildings intended for the public, where both state welfare-sector services and municipal social services are provided. In addition, the central task is to ensure access to the environment, employment and information for all residents, regardless of their abilities and limitations. As part of the project, the main entrance at 43 Pasta Street in Jelgava will be reconstructed, also providing for an inclined platform lift and new entrance doors. It is also planned to rebuild the first-floor toilet facilities so that they meet environmental accessibility requirements.

A design-build contract has been concluded with SIA “Pillar Contractor” for the implementation of the project, with the total contract price amounting to 145,275 euros excluding VAT. The work has already begun and is planned to be completed in November of this year. The project is being implemented within the framework of the European Union Recovery and Resilience Facility plan (RRF), under reform and investment direction 3.1 “Regional Policy”, specifically within the first round of “Measures to promote access to public services and employment for people with functional impairments” under “Measures to ensure environmental accessibility of state and municipal buildings”. The total RRF funding is EUR 111,000 excluding VAT.
